WHITE COLLARED PECCARI (Pecari tajacu)
The peccaris have a wide distribution range since they can live into diverse gradients, from the deserts to the humid tropical forests. The peccaris play a very important role in nature because they can move long distances dispersing seeds. They live in numerous groups of individuals and they take walks in the jungle along the trails they make. As the peccaris walk, they leave behind their characteristic odor while they remove the soil with their hooves, helping the nutrients mixing well into the soil.
